and you thought i had abandoned ship...

So since the move to beautiful "upstate NY", I have tons of time to sit around and knit. I haven't put my needles down since we got here (about three weeks ago).
I got a fancy new phone which will help me a lot with finishing my (almost)mother-in-law's birthday present: Woodstock Dishcloth. She's a big Peanuts fan, I already finished the Snoopy cloth which you can see on my Ravelry projects page.

I'm also working on some socks from the 2 At A Time Sock book. I love this method, my absoloute favorite way to make socks. I'm too lazy to start the second sock after I finish one.

I really want to try to keep up with this blog, so wish me good luck.

I'm Not Going to Talk About Knitting.

I'm off to my parent's for a day or so. The boyfriend and I just wanted to catch the leaves before they all fell off the trees. The Poconos are beautiful and I hope my dream of living there comes true soon.

Maybe I'll talk about knitting when I get back.

vacation... wooo!

Soooo....

I forget about this a lot. A lot being 10 months.

Right now I'm on a dishcloth kick. I know many knitters hate dishcloths for some reason. I think they are fun to do. I have 10 made, already gifted 3 (last minute birthday gift).

I'm bringing yarn along for my fabulous Ocean City, MD vacation. Jeremy and I are also stopping at Cape May and taking the ferry over to Delaware. I would also love to stop and see the wild ponies!

socks and more socks.

I ordered three sets of Harmony Circular Needles from Knit Picks and I've been checking my order status every five minutes as if all of a sudden its going to say "your order is on your front stoop". The boyfriend thinks he's funny by saying "What does it say now"?

I've been doing 2 at a time socks using the Berry Season Pattern. I don't like the yarn I'm using, but I figured it was just for practice. My next pair of socks (when i get my new needles, that is!) is going to be made using Red Heart- Heart & Sole in Mellow Stripe. I love self striping socks. <3

I still haven't gotten around to putting my newest projects on Ravelry...lazy.

Something I've Never Seen before!

I just wanted to share this little tidbit with anyone who reads this. Last night, Jeremy went out to have his nightly 12AM cigarette (boo), and called me outside. Annoyed that I had to put shoes on, I dragged my feet outside and scowled angrily at him. "WHAT?"

He points up. The moon has this circle of light around it. It was the weirdest thing I've ever seen. We didn't know what it was, so we went inside and looked it up.

This is what we found out. Cool, huh? In my twentysomething years on Earth, I've never seen/noticed this happening. Its fun to be dating a science nerd.

In other news, I've been knitting little gifts for Christmas. So far I have a pair of house socks, a wine cozy, and two pairs of slippers done. I'm working on a small cabled clutch right now. Too lazy to take photos right now, but I'm off tomorrow so I'm sure I'll get around to it.

Neverender, here I come!

I've been working on this hat for a while now. It is the first thing I have designed myself. My dad helped me graph the dragonfly design, which is of course a symbol of the band Coheed and Cambria. My lovely boyfriend bought me tickets to see the entire Neverender Tour, which is probably going to be one of the most fun events of my life <3

Living Large?

So, apparently my poor greenjeans sweater is GINORMOUS. I'm at the sleeves with it now. I lost interest in it, being that it is not going to fit me. I do not have the patience to frog it, either. I'm already contemplating my next sweater adventure. I will finish my GINORMOUS sweater, though.

I've been pretty good about using up the yarn that I have recently. Someone also contacted me through ravelry and offered to buy 2 skeins of Queensland collection Bengali off of me.

I spotted yarn at the NY Ren Faire this weekend. Of course I took a picture.

This photo was taken during the living chess match, where the yarn wielding girl proceeded to wrap yarn around a man's ankles to take him down. And he hit the ground, hard. Huzzah!

A coworker of mine got a job working the Ren Faire as Fifi Oeufe, Egg seller, and as a Siren of Sterling.

How cute is she?
